Our black 2026 FRONX is the matte-finish sibling of the white one — same Z12E mild-hybrid 1.2 petrol underneath, same smooth 5-speed AMT, same wireless CarPlay / Android Auto setup, just dressed up. The cross-hatch styling reads as deliberately premium next to a regular Swift, and the black on black on black trim lands particularly well in front of Mehrangarh in golden hour.
Real-world fuel economy holds steady at 19–21 km/L in mixed driving, and the mild-hybrid system smooths out the AMT's shifts noticeably compared to older AMTs. Steering is light, parking is easy, and the slightly raised seating position over a Swift makes city visibility better. Boot is 308L — comfortable for two cabin trolleys plus daypacks.
Cabin equipment is the standout at this price band: 9-inch touchscreen with wireless CarPlay / Android Auto, 360° camera (genuinely useful in Jodhpur's old-city lanes), head-up display, ventilated front seats (rare under ₹3,500/day), automatic climate AC. Rear seat fits two adults comfortably or three at a squeeze.
We hand this one over freshly serviced and washed. Black needs a wipedown after a desert run for photos — we keep a microfibre in the boot.
