About the Nissan Magnite
The Nissan Magnite was the value pick of the compact-SUV class when it launched, and it remains one of the easiest cars to drive in our fleet. Light controls, excellent visibility thanks to a tall greenhouse, and a turning radius small enough to U-turn comfortably in Jodhpur's old-city lanes. It's not the flashiest car, but it nails the practical fundamentals.
Under the bonnet is Nissan's 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol — 71 hp, which is on the leisurely side but plenty for city driving and reasonable for highway cruising at 100 km/h. Fuel economy sits around 17–19 km/L in mixed use. The 5-speed manual is one of the easiest gearboxes in the fleet — short throw, light clutch, very rookie-friendly.
Cabin equipment punches above the price: 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/CarPlay, 360° camera (rare at this rental price), digital instrument cluster, climate AC, rear AC vents, and surprising rear legroom for a 4-metre car. Boot is ~336L — comfortable for two full-size suitcases or three cabin trolleys.
Our white 2023 Magnite is freshly serviced, fresh tyres, and AC is properly cold. If you're a first-time rental driver in Jodhpur and want a compact SUV that won't intimidate, this is a strong pick alongside the Venue.
